CHELSEA WIN

Chelsea recently managed a stunning 3-1 win over Manchester United to move within two points of table leaders Arsenal.

Samuel Eto'o, who had previously scored all of his Chelsea goals at Stamford Bridge, started the match ahead of Fernando Torres.

Torres has been in good form in recent weeks after scoring in back-to-back matches, but he was dropped to the bench in favour of the former Barcelona man. He repaid Jose Mourinho's faith by scoring a stunning hat-trick, thus becoming only the fourth player to do so against Manchester United.

He scored with Chelsea's first efforts on goal, while also taking advantage of the inept defending to score Chelsea's second just before the break. He once again proved that he has lost nothing of the predatory instincts that made him one of the feared strikers in the world by scoring Chelsea's third just a few minutes into the second half.

Even though United managed to pull one back through Javier Hernandez, it was a comfortable victory for the home team.
Petr Cech later praised Eto'o by saying that this was the best match he has had in a Chelsea shirt. He has also said that the striker is slowly getting back to his best after a few years in Russia.

"Samuel was superb. It was probably his best match for Chelsea. After two years spent in the Russian league, where a different kind of football is played, he needed some time to get used to the English Premier League. Thanks to his talent, hard work and experience he has managed that and you can see how much of a help he is. He has been proving his class and I'm happy for him. He's a down-to-earth lad who has achieved a lot in his career," said Cech.
Eto'o has 8 goals in 17 appearances for Chelsea this season.
