HAZARD INSPIRES

Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard has been one of the star players at the club and also in the Premier league this campaign. He has been responsible for numerous wins including the 3-0 against Newcastle on Saturday.

Hazard scored a hat-trick in this match, as he setup Chelsea to go top of the table. After the match, goalkeeper Petr Cech reserved special praise for the player, who has been in stunning form for the last few months. He said that Hazard should be given the FIFA Ballon d’Or in the future.

This award is given to the special player from any team across the world. It has been dominated by Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi since 2007. Since Hazard still has a lot of time in football, Cech feels that the Belgian will certainly win the award at some stage in his career. The 23-year-old moved to Chelsea in 2012 for a transfer fee in excess of £ 30 million. Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho recently said that the player's value has now shot up to more than £ 100 million amidst interest from French club Paris St Germain.

Hazard has rejected an interest from PSG, but they are one of the few clubs capable of affording him.

"I’ve been saying already that if he keeps working and keeps his progression going, he’s got so much quality and if he uses all his quality, one day I believe he can win the Ballon d’Or. It’ll be down to him and the players around him to help him achieve that. He’s very talented, he’s been absolutely brilliant since he came to the club, and he’s improving, so we hope we can keep him improving," said Cech.

The 30-year-old recently became the club's record holder for the most number of clean sheets, while he is only a few clean sheets short of the Premier league record.
