Arsenal winning back the fans since Liverpool loss - Petr Cech

Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech believes the club have won the fans back with their strong reaction following the Liverpool defeat.

The Gunners succumbed to one of the most embarrassing losses in recent times after they were thrashed 4-0 by Jurgen Klopp's side in August.

The north London giants have since gone on a seven-match unbeaten streak which has included six wins and a draw, and Cech feels that they have regained the trust of the Gunners' faithful, he said: "We said after the Liverpool game that the only way to bring everybody back on board was to work hard and show our attitude and work ethic through our results and performances. We've been doing so, especially at home. We feel like we've won the fans back to our side, and hopefully, we can keep them happy as long as we can. Every fan has the right to say if they're not happy, but as players, we lead the way and our fans are supporting us home and away. This is great to see."

As a result, Cech has kept four straight clean sheets in the top-flight including one in the 0-0 draw against former club Chelsea. Despite this, Arsene Wenger has opted to rotate the squad for the League Cup and Europa League games with David Ospina taking up the number one role.

Arsenal are plying their trade in the Europa League for the first time in nearly 17 years, and the competition has proved beneficial for the club's young and fringe players, who are hoping to break into the Premier League XI.

The recent upturn in league form has propelled the Gunners to fifth place in the standings, and they are now sixth points adrift of leaders Manchester City and second-placed Manchester United. They take on Marco Silva's Watford in their next league outing after the international break, and the game could see the comebacks of Danny Welbeck, Mesut Ozil and Francis Coquelin from their respective injuries.
