CECH HAILS AZPILICUETA FOR CHELSEA CONTRIBUTIONS

Chelsea legend Petr Cech has hailed club skipper Cesar Azpilicueta for his contributions to the club since he signed several years ago. Petr Cech praised Spanish international Azpilicueta just before the recent home game with Wolves in the league.

Azpilicueta was praised by Petr Cech who's the performance and technical director at Chelsea on the back of his milestone achievement as skipper during the Everton game away from home which preceded the Wolves game. The Spaniard captained Chelsea for the 200th game when Merseyside giants Everton played hosts to Chelsea having replaced fellow defender Gary Cahill in the role three years ago.

On Azpilicueta, Cech said the Spanish fullback has completed his whole set if one point all the trophies. The retired Czech shot stopper disclosed that the Spaniard has won all the trophies possible at Chelsea before adding that not everyone has the privilege of winning all the trophies like the Chelsea captain whose contract has been extended until next summer amidst the interest from La Liga giants Barcelona. Various transfer reports say the Catalan giants want to sign him and two other Chelsea defenders including compatriot Marcos Alonso and Danish international Andreas Christensen.
Cech talked about Azpilicueta and his impressive trophy haul in his column on the Chelsea website. According to him, it shows how hard the fullback has worked as it is not about being the club captain alone. Petr Cech said it is about being on the pitch regularly like Azpilicueta has done and playing a key role for the team.
Azpilicueta didn't enjoy his landmark achievement as club skipper after he was at fault for the goal conceded by his team. The former Marseille player was the one responsible for the only goal of the game scored by Brazilian international Richarlison off the assist from Englishman Demarai Gray.
