Frank Lampard reveals one concern over Chelsea’s early season form

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has said that the Blues need to improve on one aspect in order to return to winning ways. The west London side have yet to win under the management of new boss Lampard and they have managed one draw and two defeats from their opening three games across all competitions.

Speaking after the 1-1 league draw against Leicester City, Lampard said that the fans may need to show more patience towards the team’s performances, given there is the room for improvement. He added that the players could have put the game to bed after the early strike and the lack of clinical finishing remains a concern at the current point of time, he quipped: "It's very early for us. We have to be patient as we are working towards something. Two or three nil would have taken the game away from them but we didn't take those chances. That's the story of our season so far. We need to be more clinical, for sure. It is defining."

Chelsea had a concern with the defensive shape during the season opener against Manchester United at Old Trafford where they lost by a 4-0 score. However, they have shown an improvement over the same in the next couple of games, although the occasional mistake from club captain Cesar Azpilicueta has cost them dearly.

The Blues are currently just above the Premier League drop zone after the opening two games and they are scheduled to face Norwich City on the road next weekend. The Canaries have made a quite exciting start on their return to the top-flight and Teemu Pukki has been largely key to the success with each of the four goals scored. The Finland striker recently helped the Canaries register their first points of the new season after getting the better of Newcastle United by a 3-1 scoreline at Carrow Road.
