Matt Le Tissier urges Arsenal not be over-confident after good start

Southampton legend Matt Le Tissierhas said that Arsenal should not be over-confident after making a good start to the Premier League season under Unai Emery. The Gunners begun the campaign in a poor fashion with successive league defeats but they have since found their feet with six straight top-flight wins which sees them placed fourth on the table.

As such, there has been wide praise for the job Emery has done since taking charge of the club but Le Tissier has sent them a warning by indicating that they have not faced any stiff opposition during this period, he said: “In terms of Arsenal's form, they beat Fulham at the weekend and previous to that they were lucky against Watford and Everton, while only beating Newcastle and Cardiff by the odd goal.

“I don't think they have been tested that much really, and they lost their two games against Manchester City and Chelsea“ - although they were unlucky against Chelsea. It has been nine wins in a row in all competitions, but I'm “not sure the opposition “in those games has been so good that they can get over-confident about their run and their title chances.”

Arsenal have not looked convincing with the defensive side of their game under Emery but they have still managed to chalk up a nine-match winning streak across all competitions with their forward department clicking. Both Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has excelled in the frontline with 11 goals between them already and they have found good support behind them with Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil also finding form during the winning run.
Despite this, the Gunners have not faced an elite opposition since the Chelsea game in early August and their next major test would surely come when Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool make the trip to the Emirates Stadium on November 3.
