CECH TALKS UP GALLAGHER FOR CHELSEA

Chelsea technical and performance director Petr Cech has talked up Crystal Palace midfielder Conor Gallagher and his chances of representing the Blues in the nearest future. Petr Cech has been impressed with the form of the player in the colours of the Eagles in the Premier League this season.

Gallagher, 21, is on a season-long loan deal at London rivals Palace from Chelsea having joined the Eagles during this summer's transfer window. The new England international became a Premier League regular when he joined West Brom on loan from the Blues last season, but he couldn't stop the Baggies from being one of three teams who suffered relegation from the English top flight last season. Apart from West Brom, Sheffield United and Fulham also suffered demotion to the second tier of English football, the Championship.

Chelsea loanee Gallagher was promoted from the England Under-21s to the senior team last month on the back of his impressive performances for the Eagles. He made his England debut as a second half substitute during the record-breaking 10-0 win over hosts San Marino in what was the final Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier. The result ensured that England sealed their place at the World Cup tournament proper at the end of next year.

Petr Cechrecently discussed the rise of Gallagher to the level of being recognised on the international stage with England. The former Chelsea shot stopper told the club's website that the player has benefitted from the loan spell at Selhurst Park and that he's on course to come back stronger to the club ahead of next season.

Gallagher has an attacking return of four goals and two assists in 13 Premier League games this season. He has been a regular in the Palace midfield since this Premier League campaign started in August.
