TUCHEL CREDITS DUO FOR MENDY QUALITY

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has praised both goalkeeping coach Hilario and technical/performance director Petr Cech for their roles in the level of performance shown by Edouard Mendy in the Chelsea goal.

Petr Cech has previously talked about Chelsea goalkeeper Mendy and how the club was able to seal his signing from Rennes in the French Ligue 1. Czech football icon Cech also played for Rennes before sealing a move to the Premier League to sign for Chelsea in 2004.

Tuchel praised both Petr Cech and Hilario in his post-match presser after the recent game against West London rivals Brentford in the Premier League. Tuchel watched on from the Chelsea dugout as Mendy made several acrobatic saves to lead his team to a 1-0 away win over the Bees thanks to the strike from England international left-back Ben Chilwell at the end of the first half.

German tactician Tuchel explained in details how Hilario and Cech has contributed immensely to the high level of performance amongst the goalkeepers in the first team. The Blues boss went on to hail Edouard Mendy and KepaArrizabalaga as two quality international goalkeepers before adding that he is impressed with Marcus Bettinelli in his role as the third choice goalkeeper.

Tuchel also talked about Cech and how he contributed immensely to training by joining the other goalkeepers to train. He has since stepped back since the summer arrival of Bettinelli.

Mendy is widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world and he showed his quality on the way to Chelsea winning the Champions League title last season. His immense goalkeeping talents were on display again during the Premier League clash with Brentford at the Brentford Community Stadium as he helped his team to maintain their place at the Premier League summit via three points.
